Steve Aiello Remembered

The Toluca Baseball community has lost a volunteer, coach, friend, husband and father. Steve Aiello, former Toluca Baseball Board Member and volunteer, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly early last Friday morning, August 14, 2009.
Steve thoroughly enjoyed baseball in general and Toluca Baseball in particular. He dedicated his time to the league generously and unconditionally. It was not uncommon to see Steve mowing a field on a Sunday afternoon. Many people met Steve as he handed them their baseball equipment. Steve embodied the spirit of community that Toluca Baseball has come to stand for. He will be missed by many, many people.
Steve’s son Anthony played at Toluca from Shetland through Pony and graduated in 2008. Joyce, Steve’s wife, served as President of Toluca Baseball for two years and served on the board of directors for many more. Together, the Aiello’s are a fixture of Toluca Baseball.
Many, many people will miss Steve Aiello. The thoughts and prayers of the entire Toluca Baseball community are with the Aiello’s at this difficult time.
There will be a Rosary at the Church of the Hills at Forest Lawn on Friday, August 21st at 7 PM. The funeral service will be at St. Charles Borromeo (Lankershim and Moorpark) at noon on Saturday, the 22nd.
