Our Thoughts are with the Orozco Family

Status Update 1/29/2010

Sam Orozco, Jr. is a 9 year old Toluca Mustang Player.  Sammy suffered severe injuries in a car accident just before Christmas Day, when the car he was riding in with his family flipped 8 times on a highway in Mexico. Sammy was ejected from the car and was left critically injured with a crushed leg and severe head injuries.

Needless to say, the Orozco family is facing an incredibly difficult time and the medical expenses are mounting. Families of Toluca Baseball have arranged for a fund in Sam’s name to be used to help his family defray the cost of his medical expenses. Most immediately, it will help pay the cost of transportation by air ambulance from Sonora to California.

All Toluca families can help the Orozco family by making a donation today. Donations may not be tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to “Samuel Orozco, Jr.” and mailed to the league’s mailbox at: Toluca Baseball, P.O. Box 2171, Toluca Lake, CA 91610.  For more information, contact Ian Thomas at ithomas@thomasconsultinggroup.com.

Water Watch

Toluca Baseball has begun a serious effort to increase the efficiency of the irrigation systems on all of the baseball fields. The irrigation controllers are being updated, watering times minimized and sprinkler heads are being adjusted. Toluca Baseball, a competitive youth baseball league, founded in 1952, is the oldest youth baseball league in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley region. Toluca Baseball, affiliated with PONY baseball, offers a Spring and a Fall season for children from 5 to 14 years old.
